Internal tourism, another option

Internal tourism, another optionA plan to stimulate the frequentation of the hotel centers

BREAKING NEWS: Internal tourism became a source of support for several nations which, because of various circumstances, saw a decrease in the arrival of foreign visitors.

This tendency was highlighted among tourist operators who attend the International Tourism Fair, by checking that flows of their own citizens had increased by ensuring a good level of occupation and operations of the hotels and of other installations.

It is a manner to avoid the decreasing tourists’ flows which occurred in some areas of the world for multiple causes, although in the case of Latin America the situation was different and, for certain nations, such a difference was marked by the Creole population who went in the tourist areas of these countries.

In the Dominican case, the Secretariat of Tourism, which controlled this tendency, proposes to develop in the next months a plan to stimulate the massive arrival of Dominicans in the hotel centers and on the beaches.

The plan consists in organizing excursions by buses for different public and places, for one, two or three days, with variable tariffs, in coordination with the hotel keepers and the companies which promote this type of travels.

The idea is to move the greatest quantity of citizens towards strategic places, like Samaná, Las Terrenas, Las Galeras, Puerto Plata and the beaches of the East and zones of the South, by combining entertainment and leisure with culture and historical places, so that the visited areas benefit from these flows, of which derive more consumption product and craft industries sales.

In a context like this one, in which one claims to encourage tourism, it is essential that the hotels propose attractive offers to the Dominicans in order they can enjoy in family all the excellent attractions which are offered, and by this way ensuring a good percentage of occupation and especially of employment for the Dominican workers in their installations.
